Important message for WDS users

From January 2025, the IEA will discontinue providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data will be available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

2023 values are estimated based on data from March 2024. The indicator used to track progress on global energy efficiency is global primary energy intensity improvement, or the percentage decrease in the ratio of global total energy supply per unit of gross domestic product (GDP).
